The best pastry shops in Paris

In case you’ve missed my last YouTube video, I’ve just listed seven of my favorite places to eat sweets, pastries and desserts in Paris!

If you’re not a video person, or can’t watch a video right now, that’s not a problem. The list is below.

1. Pierre Hermé
Several addresses
WHY GOING THERE: best macaron in Paris, and pastries that change with every season.

2. La Cure Gourmande
Several addresses across Paris and France
WHY GOING THERE: heavenly cookies, and the cutest vintage-looking cookie tins.

3. L’Éclair de Génie by Christophe Adam
Several addresses
WHY GOING THERE: Christophe Adam gives a twist to one of the most traditional French recipes, the éclair. Flavors include pistachio,  Mascarpone cheese, salted caramel and vanilla from Madagascar.

4. Mococha
89 Rue Mouffetard, 75005 Paris, France
You can choose between the works of three chocolate makers, two of them winners of the “Meilleur Ouvrier de France” prize — which only the very best in their craft get to earn.

5. Aux Pêchés Normands
9 Rue du Faubourg du Temple, 75010 Paris, France
The softest canelet I’ve ever eaten, and their pain au chocolat is not too shabby either.

6. Sadaharu Aoki
35 Rue de Vaugirard, 75006 Paris, France
Japan and France come together in what’s possibly the most creative pastry shop in Paris. How about a wasabi macaron?

7. Angelina
226 Rue de Rivoli, 75001 Paris, France
This tea house founded in 1903 is known for having the best hot chocolate in Paris, but I think their biggest asset are their pastries — and the beautiful decor.
